These pictures are kinda scary, but notice the cattleprod next to guy in the first picture. Trusting? I don’t think so…

I thought for sure this was a hoax, but it appears to be legitimate (link link VIDEO).

This is extra-ordinarily stupid and irresponsible on the part of the gentleman feeding the bears. By doing this, he is conditioning them to be unafraid/tolerant of humans, and eventually dependent upon them. Where is the first place they will go when they are unable or unwilling to find alternative food? What happens when this man is unwilling or unable to feed them? They tear up what they can in search of food… and then it’s off to the nearest neighbor. What happens when they encounter other humans in the wild? They wander up, unafraid, expecting a handout, and meanwhile the human they meet freaks out and throws something at them, which in turn leads to a mauling or worse.

There’s a reason every national park in the country (where bears are present, of course) has signs up that tell you not to feed the bears, and to lock up all food, food containers and wrappers, etc. in bear-safe containers. There’s a reason they post signs warning about approaching wildlife. (For photography, to “pet” them, etc.) Unless this is some sort of zoo or enclosed preserve, this sort of activity is a horrible idea.

yeah this is definitely NOT cool, it is DUMBDUMBDUMBDUMB!!! Then one day those bears are going to get spooked and bite someone and then those people are going to freak out and kill every bear they see, like the poor bears at Maymont Park in Virginia. I totally agree with Ezra. I won’t be crying for those people when they get attacked because they were trying to dress up the bears in human clothes and have them eat brunch with them at a picnic table, though those don’t seem like a brunch-eating folk. But you know what I mean.

lmao i love the standing up bear, he’s all, “I’m not a bear, I’m just a silly man in a fur suit that needs his nails trimmed”

NEVER DO THIS! BEARS ARE WILD ANIMALS AND NOT TOYS. BLACK BEARS ARE VERY STRONG AND CAN BE DEADLY. NEVER FEED WILD ANIMALS. PEOPLE IN THE PAST WHO HAVE DONE THIS FOR MANY YEARS HAVE DIED BECAUSE THEY THOUGHT THEY WERE ‘FRIENDS’ WITH WILD ANIMALS (BEARS). STEVE ERWIN DIED BECAUSE HE LIKED TO BE VERY UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL WITH WILD ANIMALS. HE WAS A GREAT ENVIRONMENTALIST, BUT WILD ANIMALS ARE WILD ANIMALS. RESPECT THEM AND LEAVE THEM ALONE.

Duh its stupid, but if they want to feed them let’em!

That’s Bearly legal!

Soooooooooooo stupid….although I must admit to being somewhat jealous. These creatures are absolutely LOVELY….but WILD CREATURES are what they are and they should be left ALONE. If one poor bear turned on those people….HE WOULD BE SHOT. Is that what they want??? Its the bears I feel for… not the numb skulls! As Alando said ‘remember STEVE ERWIN!!!!’

Pictures dated 2005… I wonder if the bears ever had to be put down due the inappropriate human behavior… Many parks have programs specifically to discourage this sort of behavior, this is what gets big kids and little kids alike killed.

Good point Nick. The bear attacks a kid and then the BEAR gets punished for it doing what it’s naturally meant to do. How confused people get on these issues sometimes.

Although, the small fantasy part of me wishes I could hang out with bears too.

I think this guy is an idiot, but I think if he wants to risk his life than let him. People risk there lifes every day riding motorcycles, skydiving, etc. I mean its a risk but life is a risk. You can die walking out of your house to check the mail. When its your time its your time. They should leave this guy alone because he is an adult and he has a right to live how he feels is best for him.
