This Week?s YSYDB Award winner

Ever since my colleague, big D invented the You Suck You Dumb Bastard Award (YSYDB Award for short), I?ve thought of many candidates that deserve the award, but I?ve never given the award to anybody. That is until this weekend, during the Eagles-Patriots football game. So, without further delay, here is this week?s YSYDB award presentation.

This week?s YSYDB award goes to a man that has everything in the world. He?s got money, fame and power. This man even has a video game franchise named after him. Yet, he would give it all up for just one night with Tom Brady. That?s right; the award goes to John Madden. Seriously, John Madden used Sunday night?s game as a chance to proclaim his love for Tom Brady and the Patriots to the whole world. Every third sentence from Madden was about how great the Patriots are or how perfect Tom Brady is. He sounded like a goddamn cheerleader for the Patriots.

It?s like NBC chose the president of the Tom Brady fan club to announce the game. All we kept hearing was how great Tom Brady is. How the Patriots were unstoppable and how he was surprised that the Eagles were even trying to compete against the awesome and unstoppable Patriots. When the Eagles made a great play, he would say that Patriots will make a better play. When the Eagles made a bad play, he gave all the credit to the Patriots. When the Eagles had the lead, he kept reminding the viewers that their lead won?t last long against the awesome Patriots. No matter what the Eagles did, he would still talk about how great the Patriots were.

Madden really did not try to hide the fact that he wanted the Patriots to win and that he expected the Eagles to be roadkill in front of them. I thought that sports announcers were supposed to be unbiased and neutral. To tell you how bad it was, even Andy Reid, the Eagles head coach said that the reason why they had to play good was so that they would not have to listen to John Madden gush about how incredible Tom Brady and the Patriots were.

At first, I thought that it was just me that was annoyed by John Maddens love and devotion to Tom Brady and the Patriots, but after talking to other Eagles fans, we all agreed that John Madden is a Patriots groupie. Hey Madden, You suck, you suck, and you suck! You Suck You Dumb Bastard!
