spinning lady

A co-worker sent us this image and we wasted an entire morning trying to figure out if the lady in the image above is spinning clockwise or counterclockwise. An Australian newspaper claims that this is a Left brain vs Right brain test.

According to the Herald Sun, almost everybody sees the dancer turning counter-clockwise. However, if you stare at her long enough you can make her change direction. (This is a load of crap because I stared at her for over an hour and she continued to spin clockwise.)

Anyways, if you see her clockwise, then you are a right-brain person and if she is spinning counter-clockwise, then you are a left-brain person. Why is all of this important? Because it determines if you are a touchy-feely person or a cold-hearted person. (According to the test, I?m touchy feely.) The description of both brain types are provided below:

LEFT BRAIN FUNCTIONS
uses logic
detail oriented
facts rule
words and language
present and past
math and science
can comprehend
knowing
acknowledges
order/pattern perception
knows object name
reality based
forms strategies
practical
safe

RIGHT BRAIN FUNCTIONS
uses feeling
“big picture” oriented
imagination rules
symbols and images
present and future
philosophy & religion
can “get it” (i.e. meaning)
believes
appreciates
spatial perception
knows object function
fantasy based
presents possibilities
impetuous
risk taking
